Redmond Earthpaste
5 Nov 2018
It has been a month (1st October) since I started using Redmond Earthpaste, Cinnamon flavored. I bought it off iHerb for $8.85 SGD and that's very expensive considering that the normal toothpastes like Colgate can be bought for around $2. Its like buying a sandwich and having it cost $15. So I sure hope that it can last a while longer, half a year would be nice but three months is a reasonable estimate.
The product is as advertised, it is brown and dirt colored and not the most appealing color and texture, since it doesn't contain emulsifiers and artificial coloring. And the first time it was used, the tube started squirting clear colored liquid that I would guess to be some essential oils or Xylitol.
The taste is sweet and the smell quite pleasant, though I haven't tried placing the paste on my tongue or swallowed any, and have no intention to do so. But it is perfectly fine to eat it, or use it as a condiment, or take it as a "clay detox" if that's a thing.
But recently it has been kinda a tragedy. My gag reflex has greatly worsened and I gag or almost gag whenever I spit out the mixture of saliva and soap and tooth residue. Its probably because it's kinda watery? Brushing my teeth has had this effect before, but using this new paste has made it worse I suppose. But even if I go back to using "normal" toothpastes now I think I will still gag especially considering how bubbly it'll be.
When this tube of Redmond Earthpaste is used up I think I may try using a tooth powder. Though I have yet to decide if I will mix it up myself or buy it. And also whether or not to turn it into a paste by using coconut oil. I will probably look to getting one with clay, baking soda, charcoal, but certain ingredients are quite difficult to source. Or I may just decide to get all the other flavors of this paste, i think there are five in total.
